Since technology has advanced faster than ever, engineers continue to create automated devices at lightening fast speed. To date, robotics have found success in the transportation industry. These include shipping, transportation or warehouse conveyance. Today, the number of companies both large and small that invest in robotic devices is ever increasing. This is due to their own first hand experience of how staff shortage limits the company’s operations system.

As the mortality rate increases due to the spread of the virus so to has the need for increased robotics with each passing day. To date, Amazon is the most successful example of how robotics can be used to expand a business. Amazon uses a robotic system to boost its order fulfillment process to ensure same day delivery. In this way, Jeff Bezos, the Amazon CEO, has been able to increase his wealth despite both the ongoing pandemic and a shaky economy.

Dominant retailers such as Amazon have also started to set a goal for themselves and their target is to enhance the speed of their deliveries. However, this goal then filters down to third-party logistic companies who need to look for better ways to enhance their own delivery speed. This is all to fulfill the initial goal set by giant retailers like Amazon who sit at the top of this business chain. For example, DHL in an attempt to meet this requirement have been looking to purchase task-oriented robots from robotics companies since 2018. This led them to expand their partnership with Locus Robotics in 2020. From a competitive perspective, this tactical method will continue to enhance the speed of the order process and increase productivity for all customers receiving DHL packages.

Now that we face a threat to humanity which has various effects on our way of life, we come to appreciate the benefit and convenience of robotics at work. This could even serve as a way to protect human life and avoid putting innocent lives at risk when a robot is perfectly capable of handling anything we may throw at it including a death dealing virus. This explains how giant technical companies such as Amazon are developing the use of artificial intelligence at present. However, on a personal note, I believe that robot will also lead us to another issue such as layoffs especially since we can now see how easily humans can be replaced by robots. Eventually, we will have to figure out how to integrate this technology into the human race. By amalgamating these two vital aspects we may be able to achieve a sense of perfection.
