A decade ago, it was the era of informatization or the process of human society transforming from an industrial society to an informational one. This was an era in which people could EXPLOIT the status quo by having more information available. However, today is the era of data analysis. With the development of knowledge management, people can use data to further ANALYZE the status quo. Data analysis is the process of transforming data into diagrams to help the decision-making process. The benefit of having useful data not only helps people in making decisions consistently but also helps businesses to operate more effectively.

Nonetheless, people are still confused about data analysis, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, etc. On a personal note, I see artificial intelligence and cloud computing as easygoing business methods. This is because people use them for specific purposes. For example, people who use cloud computing intend to focus on system speed acceleration. On the other hand, data analysis is an aggressive business method. People with no alternatives are forced to use one of those aggressive business methods for growth..

Imagine if your company is analyzing data by collecting customers’ feedback. You can then update either the system or product with the information you discovered in the data collected. Ultimately, you will create a more profitable method to obtain higher revenue. Sooner or later, the customer will accept the service and the product with higher pricing and quality.

One of the pros of data analysis is boosting the company’s system efficiency. The proper way to release the power of data analysis is by connecting with data. I believe the perception isn’t the same when we have mega data on hand. Perhaps two unrelated things would start linking together, and competing businesses would have to fight for limited data. After all, the goal for businesses that manipulate data is to foresee the future by dominating the status quo.

There are two sides to every coin. On the one side, you would be losing customers and the possibility of growth. This is because you wouldn’t be able to catch up with the speedy change of the market. On the other side, you would be growing as you are willing to adjust to the development of the company. In conclusion, data analysis is an upcoming necessity to make a company profitable. It is not a choice.
