What helps a company develop? That’s an open-ended question if ever there was one. The answer to this is countless and would also depend on who you’re asking. But, it is understandable for me to answer, that it will be employee training. Effective training not only improves staff’s performance but also benefits the company’s development. Therefore, there are more and more companies that start compiling course outlines for the different positions of the company since they understand that employee training is vital.

Staff training methods come in different types or sizes, and this keeps growing with each passing year. It refers to every department or position having suitable training methods for their particular needs. So, what’s on the training menu? Let’s take a look at the different types available to date.

1. On The Job Training

On-the-job training, also known as OJT, is a hands-on method of providing competencies needed for employees to perform a particular position within the workplace. Employees can effectively learn in an environment where they will need to practice the tasks by using existing workplace documents, knowledge, and so on.

2. On-Site Training

On-site training, also known as OST, is a method of reinforcing the current employee’s skill set. The class usually takes place for seven hours a day or fourteen hours two days top. Normally, employees can effectively learn skills and utilize it the very next day.

3. Development Training

Development training is a method used for candidates’ promotion, especially for the managerial level. The qualifications of candidates focuses on experience and skill set, not the length of seniority. So the candidates have to pass a series of trials to demonstrate that they are qualified for higher positions.

4.Train The Trainer

Train-the-Trainer is a method for training potential employees to enable them to train other people in their organisations. The core value is that attendees know all the details about the company, so they can instruct further batches of people with proper content for the position. Meanwhile, decreasing the educational budget when you hire an internal instructor can also be an advantage along the way.

Having a training program is a necessary way to ensure that employees have acquired knowledge and skills to perform well in their jobs. It is also the company’s responsibility to help employees develop the company’s values, and the company’s revenue can increase along the way. I guarantee that employees can sense kindness if the company is willing to work hand in hand with their employees. Eventually, the company and all of the employees can benefit from the feedback of staff training.
